If f ( x ) = 5 x - 7
f (  5 ) = 5 *  5  - 7 =  25 - 7 = 18
-  5 is in the domain
g ( 5 ) = √ ( 5 - 2 ) = √ ( - 3 )  ( this is an irrational number )
- 5 is not in the domain.
