Substitute first equation into second equation.

Substitute 3/2 for x in the first equation.

[tex]\begin{gathered} y=4(\frac{3}{2}) \\ =6 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Thus, the value of x is 3/2, and the value of y is 6.
