If y = 4 x - 1 find the value of y when x = -2

Use the substitution method for x

y= 4(-2)-1

y= -8-1

y= -9

Answer is y=-9

X=-9
Because when you substitute -2 into x
You would multiply 4 times -2 which equals -8 plus the -1 which equals -9
